Terminal Busto Arsizio-Gallarate: solutions for traffic management in the Malpensa airport area

From 27 July to 26 October the Milano Linate ariport will be closed for important infrastructure works. This will involve the transfer of air and  passenger traffic to the Milano Malpensa airport. A strong increase in road traffic on the highway SS336  is expected. This will have important repercussions in the area of Busto Arsizio-Gallarate.

Quick pick-ups - even at night
To limit the impact on the access viability to the terminal Busto Arsizio-Gallarate, we suggest to privilege the pick-up operations in the following time slots:

  • night slot, between 20:00 and 05:30 - also taking advantage of the economic benefits offered by the bonus-malus system
  • morning slot, between 09:00 and 11:00
  • afternoon slot, between 14:30 and 16:30.

This helps to relieve traffic congestion and keep waiting times stable.

Terminal entry/exit portals
Hupac also helps to speed up traffic. We are installing a system for the automatic collection of data on vehicles entering and leaving the Busto Arsizio-Gallarate terminal using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology.  This simplifies processes and ensures faster loading/unloading times for the units.

The attached instruction explains the new process for drivers.
