Modal shift policy

One of Hupac's main objectives is the growth of combined transport in transalpine traffic through Switzerland. In 2023, Hupac Intermodal transported 538,000 road consignments or 10.4 million net tonnes in transalpine traffic through Switzerland. In total, the Hupac Group moved 975,000 road consignments.

Institutions

We maintain a constructive and transparent relationship with Swiss and European institutions. Our many years of experience are valued and in demand, for example for the further development of transport policy framework conditions. We are a member of numerous trade associations and working groups that are dedicated to promoting our industry.

Local communities

Open Letter

Safeguarding intermodal transport as a strategic asset in the coronavirus crisis - Hupac supports the requests made in the Open Letter of 11 March 2020 and addressed to the Italian and European institutions:

  • To safeguard intermodal transport as a safe and controlled system for the logistics of industrial and basic consumer/medical goods
  • To guarantee the operation of intermodal terminals
  • To establish, if necessary, sanitary corridors to protect terminal operations
  • Central coordination with uniform procedures
  • Support and facilitations for companies in the sector.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus emergency, the Hupac Group has adopted a series of preventive measures to protect the people involved in the production processes.

We keep intermodal running.
