New Shuttle train: Duisburg DGT – Novara

In order to intensify the modal shift from road to rail, Hupac is pleased to announce the start-up of a new rail service connecting Duisburg Gateway Terminal DGT with Novara CIM, effective 12 January 2026.

The new connection will operate with a daily frequency of six roundtrips per week, further strengthening Hupac’s network between Germany and Italy.

With this additional service, Hupac reinforces its presence on the Ruhr–Italy corridor, which is central in the Rhine Alpine axle. The expanded network ensures enhanced capacity, reliability and flexibility for customers operating along one of Europe’s most important intermodal corridors.

Leveraging the role of Duisburg Gateway Terminal as a key European hub, the new service also enables Hupac to provide robust solutions connecting via gateway northeast and southeast Europe with northern and southern Italy.
