Modal shift policy

One of Hupac's main objectives is the growth of combined transport in transalpine traffic through Switzerland. In 2024, Hupac Intermodal transported 536,000 road consignments or 10.4 million net tonnes in transalpine traffic through Switzerland. In total, the Hupac Group moved 950,000 road consignments.

Institutions

We maintain a constructive and transparent relationship with Swiss and European institutions. Our many years of experience are valued and in demand, for example for the further development of transport policy framework conditions. We are a member of numerous trade associations and working groups that are dedicated to promoting our industry.

Local communities

Hupac is committed to the development of local communities by supporting projects and associations.

Contact

Hupac launches a new connection China-Poland

Hupac continues its close cooperation with the Xian City Platform. After a first successful train between Xian and Milan (Busto Arsizio) in 2019, we are now connecting the emerging Xian business region in Western China with Warsaw in Poland. Thanks to our footprint in Poland, we are able to offer a complete network with multiple ongoing connections that cover all major industry destinations in Europe.

The train has departed from International Port Area of Xian with 48 loading units containing mainly consumer goods. After a journey of 13 days via Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus, the train arrived at Warsaw terminal on 18 April. The goods are destined to various markets: mainly Poland, but also Germany and Spain.

With this initiative, Hupac strengthens its position in the growing market of rail freight transportation between China and Europe. The new service Xian-Poland will run with weekly departures in both directions. The next departure is foreseen at the end of April/beginning of May, in respect of the re-opening of the main factories in Europe.
