Bernd Decker retires, Mathias Leiner is the new CEO of ERS Railways GmbH

Changes in top management

18.1.2023 - The beginning of 2023 marks the start of a new era for ERS Railways. Bernd Decker retires, Mathias Leiner is the new CEO of the company.

This step has been prepared for a long time, so that there are consolidated structures in place for this change. Mathias Leiner started as the second CEO at ERS Railways in October 2022. He is perfectly familiar with the world of rail freight transport and especially combined transport.

Bernd Decker, who has built up ERS Railways and played a key role in shaping its development since its foundation, will continue to support the company in the area of sales during a transitional phase. "We are happy that Bernd Decker will make his broad wealth of experience available and pursue specific projects on behalf of Hupac Ltd in the future", explains Michail Stahlhut, CEO of the Hupac Group. "With Mathias Leiner, we have been able to attract an outstanding leader for the further development of ERS Railways, and we already wish him every success."

Mathias Leiner (45) holds a degree in business administration and brings 15 years of management experience in the transport and logistics sector. He will drive forward the future-oriented development of ERS Railways together with the experienced team. The focus is on digitalisation and strengthening process quality, as well as the further expansion of the network together with the partners of the boxXpress portfolio.
